LGBT: Unique and Beautiful

LGBT: UNIQUE AND BEAUTIFUL

LGBTQ+ is a community composed of people with unique sexuality. It has been going on for centuries by centuries yet none of those are more vocal than we have today. There are cities in the world wherein the LGBTQ+ Community is very much welcome to expressed who they really are, who they want to be, and to be just themselves without being judge by people.

One of these cities is San Francisco, the “Gay Mecca” or well-known as the Gay Capital City of the World. These people who have this uniqueness in them had been hiding all along. They never had the chance to find their inner peace, to show the world what and who they really are. In the letter that Michael sent his mom about his sexuality, I am genuinely happy for him, I felt proud of him for coming out of the shell. Not everyone in this world can do what he did. It takes up time and courage to be able to choose and to express yourself freely in this world. For me it is one of the beautiful and the greatest transition in life.

Let’s admit that we cannot actually force people to like LGBTQ+. Issues are spreading worldwide about this matter that result to unending process of debating in which involves the rights of each and everyone of us, most especially the members of this community. One of the recent issues in the Philippines that involve LGBTQ+ is Gay Marriage/Same-Sex Marriage. As we all know Philippines is very traditional country. Man for Woman and vice-versa. Our country lives up by the word of the Bible. According to the church, it is a sin for a man to marry a man and to act like a woman and same goes with woman yet according also to the law implemented by the Government of the Philippines, Human Rights Article 1 and 2: Right to Equality, and Freedom from Discrimination. People disregard these human rights and still continue to hate the members of LGBTQ+ that may result to worst.

Aside from that issue, LGBTQ+ is prohibited to legally adopt a kid. This century is populated that sometimes result to abortion since teens ages from 13-18 years old is engaging themselves with premarital sex. Some people can’t accept that the LGBTQ+ will be able to do so. For me it should be approve so that every kid in this world would experience love despite the fact that their parent’s abandoned them for lack of money to sustain their needs. Let LGBTQ+ adopt the kids that had been abandoned for some reason, because they all deserve the love in this world.

As a student with the ability to identify what is right and wrong, I am very much aware of my surroundings that is full of discrimination towards this uniquely-beautiful people. In order for me to help people like Michael, I would love to accept and defend them to pea minded people’s opinion. I would be more than ready to shield them from the harmful words that the others threw them. A student like me can only open up a word of enlightenment to those people, and I am very much willing to do so, yet there is some cases that we can’t actually force people to like them but I know for myself that they are one of the best.

To be honest, I felt sad for those people who had been hiding their true color to the outside world, scared to be judged, and scared to be thrown out with opinions that they always think would bring them down. Acceptance is hard to achieve but with respect? I think it is much easier for people to accept this LGBTQ+ members. I conclude that being a gay comes naturally, and I hope in the future, people will try to accept this beautiful human beings.
