Guno and Koyo: A Reflection on Society

INTRODUCTION

Guno and Koyo is a story that came from Java, Sumatra and Celebes. This story is quite fun and you can learn something from it. I'm very curious at first since It was a story from other country and I never heard about it also. This story was a fun story to read. Elders do tell their granddaughter and other little kids this story so that they can learn the lesson that this story gave.

This story will show you even if you're in your darkest days you don't need to do something that will make you look bad or funny.

BODY

In the story the word hadji was mentioned. From what I have read Hadji means a Muslim who has been to Mecca as a pilgrim. Hadji's are the one who travels places to places for religious reasons. I think that they rub the hadji's house since he have something that makes Guno and Koyo rich and also being a hadji means you're being respected and maybe that's why the villagers chased Guno and Koyo.

In Java, Sumatra and Celebes. When someone had commit a crime they will tell them to "Dont go swimming in a dry riverbed." since Guno and Koyo did swim in a dry riverbed in order for them to escape the villagers and the sin that they committed.

CONCLUSION

For me this story is a good story since it left a good lesson that made you think that stealing or rubbing something is not a good thing. This story is a great story to pass through generations to generations to make the kids think that stealing is actually a bad thing and never been a good thing. Even if they made it funny the idea of them stealing will not leave to everybody's mind's. I do suggest that every book should have this story.
